Rockledge is peaceful city situated in between the St. Johns River and the Indian River Lagoon in Florida. Encompassing around 12 square miles, this coastal city is home to over 27,000 residents and is one of the best places in Brevard County to raise a family.
Established in 1867, Rockledge is Brevard County’s oldest city. Rockledge was originally named Peru after the Peruvian Mining Company. The name was later changed to reflect the area’s geology, in particular the rock ledges that were present along the Indian River area.
Rockledge is an ideal city for families. The coastal city has exceptional schools, sandy beaches, numerous parks and recreational facilities, and a wide variety of real estate properties. Rockledge is also just less than an hour away from Cocoa Beach, Titusville, Merritt Island, and Viera.
